Vietnam abounds in natural fantastic sceneries and beauty resorts across the country. To help show this, the Department General of Posts and Telecommunications (DGPT) recently issues a special stamp set entitled "Northern landscapes" showing some of the most typical and finest scenes in three Northern provinces of Ha Giang, Quang Ninh and Ninh Binh.
The three-model set consists of:
Model 1: Co Tien Mountain in Ha Giang Province with a face value of VND400: The Co Tien Mountain, a twin mountain which is associated with a legend and called Mountain of the Lady, is the most typical site in Ha Giang Province
Model 2: Dong Pagoda - Yen Tu - Quang Ninh Province with a face value of VND400: Besides the Ha Long Bay which is a world heritage recognized by UNESCO, Quang Ninh Province is also home to the Dong Pagoda which is located on top of the Yen Tu Mountain where thousands of people come praying for the good.
Model 3: King Dinh Temple - Ninh Binh Province with a face value of VND10,000: Ninh Binh Province is the capital of Dai Co Viet, the then name of Vietnam in 968-980. The temple is built in memory of King Dinh Hoang, and is a famous historical site in Ninh Binh.
