Taiwanese Peacock Butterfly

The Department General of Post and Telecommunication issues the stampset “Butterflies” introducing a number of rare and beautiful species of butterflies, which inhabit in Asia, Europe, Africa and Americas. There is also a Vietnamese butterfly included in the stampset.

Model 1:, with a face value of VND800: Vietnamese Peacock Butterfly (Troides aeacus) is a precious and beautiful butterfly found in Vietnam and neighboring countries

Model 2:, with a face value of VND800: European Four-eyes Admiral (Inachis io) is typical of day butterflies in Europe. They have coloured and pointed wings with firm look. Their bodies and wings have many thick long-haired scales overlapped to cope with frigid climate

Model 3:, with a face value of VND800: American four-coloured Pansy (Ancyluris formosissima) is a precious species in Americas (only seen in Peru - South America)

Model 4:, with a face value of VND5,000: African Red Admiral (Cymothoc Sanguris) is found only in Central African Republic. Especially, the top of their wings is overall red

Model 5:, with a face value of VND7,000: Taenaris selene is a special forest butterfly found in islands of Indonesia and Ceram. This precious species is typical of island butterflies

Model 6:, with a face value of VND10,000: Trogonoptera brookiana (Malaysian Peacock Butterfly). This species is so rare, and has been found in Malaysian islands and neighbouring ones

Model Block:, with a face value of VND13,000: Atrophaneura horishanus (Taiwanese Peacock Butterfly). It is a unique species of Asia (Only seen in Taiwan)
