The Cat Tien National Park is one of the biggest preservation zones in Vietnam, situated 125km away from the northern-east of HCM City. The part consists of three sections: Nam Cat Tien (38,302ha) in Dong Nai Province, Tay Cat Tien (5,382ha) in Binh Phuoc Province, and Cat Loc (30,635ha) in Lam Dong Province. All the three were merged under the unique management of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in December 1998.

The park lies in monsoon tropical climatic zone, with two distinct dry and rainy seasons. It is also home to various species of rare and precious plants and animals, which are on the verge of extinction and thus need protection.

The Department General of Posts and Telecommunications (DGPT) issues a special 4 model stamp set entitled Animals in Cat Tien National Park, describing four endemic animals found only in the park.

Model 2:Stichophthalma uemurai Nisht Mura, a typical butterfly of the park, with a face value of VND800
